It is good to see another tyer that is not afraid to use "over-sized" hackle.

When you use all the sweet spots on a cape, things can get crazy but those long sweepy fibers entice takes.
I'm with DUBBN and look at those Scotch style patterns Theroe ties. Milk every feather from the skin.

I'll take a dozen of those!

I normally oversize the hackle a bit on my Flymphs because I like the way they look. I think it’s from seeing Bill Shuck’s Isonychia for the first time and the way the hackle is on that fly.
