Did you use cobblers wax? The waxed silk has a beautiful rich mahogany look to it. Really nice color & pattern.

Ray,

I used Wonder Wax on those flies. Today, I took photos with a different light and hopefully it shows the colors of the first fly a bit better. They are not quite as dark as the first photo makes them out to be.

Newriverspey,

Your fly looks very different in the 2nd set of pictures! Now I can see the green body and olive wire; even the shiny green on the Starling hackle. I appreciate you posting these. Just goes to show how pictures/lighting don't always give an exact match to the actual fly.

I think I will close out 2021 by taking a shot at your pattern.
