Roaring Fork Float

Fun to get out on my raft today. I tell you the fishing was tough. I landed a dozen with a 16 inch Bow being the biggest. A Gray Soft Hackle size 20 caught 3, and a Partridge and Peacock, size 16 took a couple. Nymphs and Trout emergers (egg), caught the rest.

It was cool to see this yearling getting a drink as I floated by. After he realized I was there he scurryed up a tree.

No Hank, it's the Roaring Fork. Just a few more days!

Temperatures were in the mid 80's...Lots of little BWO's coming off in the afternoon. It was kind of weird as the temps were warm, sunny, bluebird day.

I didnt see any October caddis either.

DUBBN, Howdy;

D-OOOOOh, should'a read the title... :oops:

Watchin' the weather carefully now, have a Low
(cold), front commin' in from the NW. supposed to
bring some scattered showers Mon. and maybe into Tues.
which may be Wed. in your neck of the woods...
The Local weather guessers are sayin' maybe some snow
at or above 10,000 feet :shock:
Then there will be excellent weather for fishin' thru the weekend :D

Nice report and great photos.
I am sure glad we do not have to look over our shoulders and see big ole bruin like that over here.... no snakes, bears or much of anything to worry you here...... just concentrate on your fishing. ;)

What a cool report. Anytime you can catch a dozen is a fine day in my world. Nice pics of the fly as well. Looks like a great trip out.
