Will Winter ever leave?
We had a Winter blast come through last night. 36 hours ago the temerature was in the high 60's. At the time of this pic (8:00 AM)it was 16 degrees.
My friend from Denver was suppose to meet me in Glenwood Colorado at 7:00 AM, but Vail pass (I-70) was shut down, with him on the WRONG side, due to wind, snow, and blowing snow. We were going to float with our rafts. Instead I wade fished for a few hours.. I caught maybe a dozen. Most were Bows of this size, with a couple 14 inch Browns thrown in the mix. The Bow in this pic is maybe 14 inches, but I would guess closer to 13 inches. I had to snap a quick pic of this fish as I am always amazed at their spawning colors.
Most of the fish took a size 16 Muskrat Flymph. Two or three took the Wine colored Soft Hackle in size 18
I took a couple random pics of the water I was fishing near an old RR tressle.
It wasn't the way the day was planned out, but the day was far from a complete loss.

We've been thinking the same thing, here, in the northeast as well. It does seem to be starting to moderate, some, with some green starting to show in the trees. Our precipitation has been nothing but RAIN, which we are all sick of.

Rumor had it the caddis were popping in large numbers a couple days ago. These extreme temps put that hatch down for awhile.
Heres a pic of my truck in almost the same spot back in January or early Feb.
Kinda hard to tell the difference

DUBBIN, Howdy;
Thought of you yesterday, .... so I sent ya a present.
Looks like it arrived all in one piece.....
Picked-up a new (to me) RV Wed. afternoon. Nice bright sunny day.
Got it to the "Home Campground" Started to move on Thursday, yesterdy and today.
Nothing but COLD, wet, snow...just the perfect mix for walking stuff from one to the other ...
Looks like you enjoyed the day anyway.

I always take one fish pic on every trip. My wife and I are both on FaceBook, and I always change my profile Pic to the fish I caught on the previous trip. It's kinda my way of saying "Honey, that picture has been up a very long time on FaceBook. Dont you think it's time I go fishing again?"letumgo wrote:Man, the colors on that trout is amazing!
