How to???

Howdy ALL;

The river that is closest to me is the San Pitch River, It comes down off the Wasach Plateau and runs throught the Sanpete Valley. Generaly it is more of a stream by Eastern standards. It's generaly 2-8 feet across. Hardley a tree in sight, not many bushes and it 's a twisty-turney affiar. If one wants to google it look for Fairview, Utah and look to the Southeast of town and one will see the squiggle that is the "Mighty San Pitch".
My question is; How would YOU fish it?

EDIT;
DOOOOOH... Homer Simpson moment,
almost forgot to add;

just askin'

OOOOO! That sounds like a fun challenge!

Stay WELL back on the bank, keep low, probably not too much excess line out, false casting to a minimum and go with lots of flies. I'm only saying that because I know my casting abilities and I would probably be overcasting into the other bank. :lol: Sounds like they'll be easy to retrieve but of course that would spook every fish for a mile!

Don't know if this is the info you're looking for, I'm just living vicariously through you at the moment. That's probably how I would start out (and I'm no expert).

Have a great time!

By golly CreationBear you may just have something there. Unfortunately Hank doesn't give us a whole lot to go on other than this creek is quite narrow and meanders a lot. Hank is it a free stone stream? Are corners where it meanders deeps pools? Are there steep banks with some undercuts? Does it have good sized rocks in it so as to provide holding areas? Information such as this can be quite helpful in giving advise as to how the stream is to be fished.

Regards, Jerry

Gotta be either free-stone or a spring creek.....i'll co-sign creation bear's idea. Sounds perfect for Tenkara. Either that, or a 5 or 6 ft. Boo. ;)

Howdy All;

Reckon I'll have to go walk it and take the image maker (camera), with me.
Due to the State of Utah passing a Access restricting Law. So, I have about 1 mile of it to hike up an down.
I'll try to get some pix up in the next day or 2.

Oh yeah, I was turned around when I said " look to the Southeast of town" I should have said the Southwest of town. It starts in a spring approx. 4 to5 miles up stream from my access point

Go ahead and use Google Earth, search coordinates;

39° 36’ 30.56” N and 111° 26’ 53.96” W

That’s the access point. Only about 5 miles from me and I can only go ‘straight line’ about ½ mile in each direction. Purdy country. I also have to get busy and find the landowners so I can try to get written permission to access the river on ‘their’ property.

Thanks;
hank

Just looked it on Google maps (satelite, closest resolution)

That's how I'd fish it.
