Doug sent me a few pictures recently that I would like to share with the rest of the forum.

Cream Flymph (I can tell you from personnal experience that this if a very effective pattern):


Doug also shared a couple patterns which worked well on his farm pond.







Hopefully Doug will chime in with some background on the patterns and his experience fishing them.

I just got a Whiting Pale Watery Dun Hen Cape that will be used for some Cream Flymphs this week.

What material did you use to dub the body on your cream flymph? I presume the tail is wood duck flank; is that true?

I like them all, but cream/yellow patterns really get attention! Love the cream flymph and that orange caddis looking pattern is awesome.

Wow Ray! Thank you for posting these! This is awesome! And, thank you guys for the positive feedback on these patterns! The dubbing on the Cream Flymph is Hareline Dubbin #8 Pale Yellow. The color is just right for what I want it be. My pic that I sent to Ray shows the dubbing and even the hackle as nearly white! This is bad photography on my part! And yes, the tail is Lemon Wood Duck flank. I originally used the first somewhat long fibers from bottom of the hackle feather. The Wood Duck really adds some "insectness" that I like and so do the fishes!
The middle (darker) pattern is a Muskrat Nymph as found on Tim Flaggler's Tight Line Video series! It is tied with and without weight. I am liking the unweighted pattern more and more! This pattern looks quite different wet than dry! It is a killer pattern in my locale!
Once again, thank you Ray for posting these pics! All of them were taken just over the hill from my house at both ponds!
Ruard, I still am in awe at the fine bamboo wand you made for me! This rod is....amazing! And, so much fun to fish!

Very well done, Doug! I think I will give it a try today to copy your cream Flymph…… what make and model Hook do you use

I'm guessing that us a Mustad Model R50U/TUE Hook (size 12 or 14). Wild ass guess.

Very nice flies. I had some good luck with a cream-colored wet last Summer. I am sure Doug's would do an excellent job as well.

That’s a good guess, Ray. It has heavy wire, and does appear to be 1X long….. Let me dig around and see what I can come up with.
