Nice tie Carl! 8-) What size hook is that on? I fish more foam carpenter ants than I use my fur bodied red and black ants.

Size 14 and 16 on those. A little limited by hackle size with the starling. I have never worried about my ants floating, seems in or close to the surface works fine. Whether they take it as an ant or a well fed starling and purple I don't know. But, as William said summer time is the key.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.
