I have a fifteen foot two-hander cane rod that I have been promising myself I would rewrap and fix some delaminations. That's never going to happen

It is a very light-in-hand rod because the butt section is so thick that the center of it is hollow. I had visions of using a six weight line and enjoying a good fight with the smallies in fast water (the longer the rod, the longer the lever you give the fish).

P.S. - On the west side of the pond, you can buy 2.5mm and 4mm braided polypropylene cord in assorted colors from http://www.candjcraft.com/macrame/4mm_212mm_cord.shtml as macrame cord. At $3 for twenty yards or $6 for 70 yards, it shouldn't break the bank. (Except my bank, but that was already broken.)

I thought I'd e-mail the folks at the essentials co.to see if their cord would float (be hydrophobic), here's the answer I recieved this morning...

Good move Hank, that indeed is the major issue in finding this stuff.

Not all polyp line is 100% polyp.

The last stuff i bought sunk faster than lead.

Rod is re-ringed , not the prettiest piece of work, and will have to be re-done proper next winter - just cannot find the time at the moment.

At 13 ft it is huge........
In next week or two it will be properly christened on the river.
