Spanish Wet Fly Fishing

Post by jcrumbacher » Tue Mar 24, 2009 12:17 pm

Hello all,

I found this page on old Spanish wet fly techniques of fishing with three Spanish wets and a buldo (float). I'll paste the url here. Thought this might be of interest.

Tight lines,
Jay

P.S. Haven't figured out how to make this an active link, so you will need to cut and paste.

Jay- great page and thanks for the link. The link is active in my browser- I clicked on it and it brought the page up! I'm using safari, if that sheds any light.

Most interesting site that Thanks! See how big the heads are on many of their flies. Obviously like 'em like that!

Anyone have anything or know of any English language sites on Italian fly fishing? I am after something from Northern Italy specifically relating to their use of wet flies with hackles facing forward.

Cheers.

There are Italian Alpine flies shown on my web-site -

http://www.dtnicolson.dial.pipex.com/page43.html

First shows three simple flies that I tied and
the following twelve pages show forty patterns tied by
Walter Bartellini.

This an Italian site, with info from Bartellini.

I forgoi my reason for replying to this post.
This is exactly the same technique used in Scotland with a bubble float.

I'm new to this type of fishing, so I will ask . What is the advantage to this type of fly.
Should a beginner invest the time to tie flies like these. Just had to ask.

Thanks
