The title translates to Feather, Silk and Steel by Jose Luis Garcia Gonzalez.
This book is in Spanish. Much history on early Spanish wetfly patterns. Great color photos of patterns and materials.
What I like is the mixing of different colors and different hackles into the fly patterns. Also the use of silk in the bodies.

Thanks for the recommendation Lou. I’m looking forward to tracking down a copy.

I can’t read Spanish, but that won’t stop me from trying.

;) :D

Preben Torp Jacobsen sent me a copy of El Manuscripto de Astorga that he edited. It’s somewhere among many books.

Lou,

I started corresponding with Preben when I bought his book "Flyleaves"’ This was back in the day when you had to change currency at a bank and send it tucked in a magazine. He added the Spanish book as a gift. I wish I had gotten to know him sooner because he passed away a few months after this letter. I’m still friends with Yann Youenn. I photographed the letter but because it contains my Breton friend’s email I copied it. It was dated 12/1/2003.

Thanks for the links. I got lost looking thru the old editions of "The American Fly Fisher". Found myself downloading year after year of the old editions.

Felt like a kid in a candy store. :D

Thanks! ;)
