Female ringneck pheasant skins are far less colorful, but in my opinion they are more useful for wingless wet flies. The mixed earthy tones (tans/browns/cream) and mottled appearance make the feathers ideal for fishing flies.
These are harder to find than the brightly colored male skins, but the are worth checking out.
