No. 49 From T.E. Pritts book. North Country Flies. This fly calls for a Hackle of landrail under covert. As this material is unobtainable I substituted American Woodcock under covert as Harry Darbee called it a sutitble sub. The fly is tied on a Daiichi 1480 size 14 hook with Orange Pearsalls silk body and a head of peacock Herl.

Nice fly. I like the idea of having a peacock or magpie herl head on dressings, even if the original pattern doesn't call for it. Don't know if it will catch any more fish, but they sure look purdy,eh?
