Scott,
I really enjoy your posts and the patterns you share with us. You've broaden my ideas of possible soft hackled flies. This pattern sits in the "surface film's damp meniscus region" between emergers and dry flies. Untreated (i.e. - no floatant), I bet this would make a great sunk terrestrial searching pattern. Treated with floatant, and this would sit nice and low in the suface film. Kind of a dry fly, with actively kicking soft hackle legs. A lively pattern for sure.

Scott, this is eye-popping. This style is very popular in B.C., where, I think, it originated. The Canadians fish it as a dry fly, over sedge hatches.
