Found this over on Ward Bean's site http://www.warmwaterflytyer.com/welcome.asp. Supposed to be a bluegill pattern (what fly isn't a bluegill pattern?); looks like it could work elsewhere, too.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #10
underbody - non-tox .025 (optional)
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail - pheasant rump
rib - x-small wire copper
body - peacock herl
wing - pheasant rump
hackle - Indian hen

Scott,
Fantastic looking pattern! Any combination of the three main ingredients listed in your recipe is sure to be a winner! And yes, thankfully, just about every trout pattern ever conceived is an excellent Bluegill pattern! This one is no exception! You have given me inspiration! I am now off to see the link from Ward Bean that you have posted! Thanks for that too!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

Exceptional in every respect. The profile and material combination makes for a wonderfully "buggy" fly. Wonderful stuff Scott!

I'd steal flies from you any day...and several times on weekends... :D

Switched to salmon iron, added a gold tinsel tag and swapped the hen hackle with pheasant rump - and it's pretty much a Carey Special.

That dog will hunt! I love scaling flies up like that. They scale up beautifully.
