My first attempt at married wings

I wanted to expand my horizons and try to marry wings. This is my first attempt at it and I have to say I'm very happy with myself. But there's always room for improvement and I'm very open for any advice.

I really like my Queen's Guard fly, but it looks too much like another fly that already exists, so I changed it to this.

I found out that going to a hobby store has goose feathers is a good place to get about ten feathers for about two dollars. But the problem is you'll end up getting eight right side feathers and two left side wings. But it doesn't matter because they are good practice materials and you may find some really nice feathers too.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. It took me a while to marry the wings due to my sausage like digits so I tried different ways to do it and haven't found which way I like best yet.

Winged wet flies have always intimidated me, and now that I can do it (most of the time), I never thought I could marry different colors. But reading as much as I can from this forum on the subject and a few you tube videos, I thought it was time to try.

I'm going to try other colors and keep practicing these styles. I really like the looks of them and I'm only getting better.

You guys have really helped me along with your kind, encouraging words and your helpful advice when asked.

Thank you.

For a first attempt, you nailed it.
Nice aligned flowing tips and set.
If you fall down that Bergman hole and find Norm at the bottom, tell him we said "Hi"

Wonderful winged wet! You’ve done excellent work on so many different elements on this pattern (body work, married wing/tail, finished head). Great attention to detail! I look forward to seeing more posts in the future.
