So many Coachman variations. I am curious to know everyone's feelings about changing one bit of a fly pattern to create a new innovation. Does including the name Coachman suffice to honor the original and claim a new variant?

In the book "The Fisherman's Handbook of Trout Flies" by Donald DuBois there are 116 patterns with the word "Coachman"

I dont think I'll be tying all of them :o :o
