The Butcher the way it was meant to be

I was blessed with people giving me speculum feathers to tie the Butcher. I noticed these feathers are softer than your duck quills, so it took me some practice to get the wings right, and I'm still not sure. But that's where you all come in! :D And don't be afraid to tear me up. I respect truth over telling me what I want to hear.

Looks great.

I've posted this before, but it's always worth a listen:

I have never heard that song before and it's now on my phone. That's a great tune and I thank you for posting it.

And thank you and Darrell for the kind words.

I love watching your progression with tying winged wets. Bravo!

Excellent body work, and in setting the wing slips, and attention to the details of the ribbing and head.

Now that you’ve gotten this one dialed in, the next eleven should be easy… :D ;)

I don't think I have enough scotch for the next eleven. ;)

Thank you very much for the encouragement. I plan on tying as many winged flies as I can this year just because I love the looks of them and the tradition. Plus the challenge.
