North Country March Brown Variant
This is a pattern from Pritt 1886 North Country Flies

Hook: #10 Nymph
Thread: YLI Gold Silk
Tail: Two barbs from a Hungarian Partridge tail
Body: Natural Hare's Mask and Yellow Rabbit Dub hand mixed
Rib: Gutermann's Yellow Silk
Hackle: Hungarian Partridge
Wings: Barbs from Hungarian Partridge rolled together.

Pritt's recipe is:
Hook: 3
Wings: From Tail of Partridge
Body: Pale Orange silk, dubbed with a little Hare's Ear and yellow mohair mixed; ribbed over with a little yellow silk
Tail: Forked with two strands of a partridge tail
Legs: From the back of a partridge

What makes my fly a variant is that I used gold instead of pale orange silk - based on this video

Also, Pritt's recipe calls for yellow mohair - the video linked to above says this is actually yellow mole. At any rate I have neither so I used yellow Rabbit Dub.
