Wow! That is a fantastic pattern, and tutorial. I am so glad to be participating in this swap. Can’t wait to see them in person.
Thanks Wayne.

Ray, I was a bit bummed this pattern did not terrorize the trout this Spring.
It did better the past few weeks.

Do you think there is a specific hatch that is happening now, that would explain the difference?
Nice healthy looking brown trout.
What is the water temp like out there these days? Is the water still cooled by snow melt in the upper regions?
Can I move this post to the tutorial section? Such a great step by step tutorial.

Ray, with the minimal snowfall the past Winter, there is no telling how it is affecting hatches. Where caddis and soft hackles are concerned my notes from past years seem useless.
I am having great success, but not with the patterns or techniques my notes say I should. This applies only to caddis. Stoneflys and Mayflies seem to be follwing the norm.
Water temps are rising in all the rivers on the Western Slope of Colorado. One river , the Dolores has been closed to fishing. I believe it is voluntary but I am not certain. The Yampa has sections that have been closed as well. Time will tell if thebrivers I fish will be closed.
Tutorial? If you want to move it there, I do not mind.

That has BWO (E cornutella) all over it. They run 16 to 20 and are an important hatch on the
waters that I fish. I'm looking forward to seeing that live and in living color when the swap flies arrive!
Well Done!
