Brooks Little Green Caddis SBS

Charlie Brooks' Green rockworm (Rhyacophila for the entomologically inclined). Tied with the Yellowstone area in mind (ask Bob Jacklin how important his own green rockworm pattern is), this bug, in one form or another is pretty widespread throughout the country. Pretty easy to tie, as most of Charlie's patterns are; switch the colors/sizes and it'll imitate a number of caddis.
hook - Mustad 3906B #12
thread - MFC 8/0 olive
rib - x-fine wire gold
butt - yarn fluoro green
abdomen - rabbit/angora goat mix green
thorax/wing (?) - ostrich herl grey
legs - partridge
mash barb, tie in rib and wrap back to point above barb
tie in a piece of fluoro green yarn
dub thread, double over thread to make a dubbing loop (original pattern called for yarn; if you have some in this color, feel free to use it)
twist dubbing loop and wrap body; leave some space up front
counterwrap rib through body; helicopter end and tie off
tie in a couple ostrich herls; leave the ends long over the back
twist front ends with thread and wrap thorax; tie off
trim ostrich (shank length) and butt
prep partridge feather and tie in by tip
wrap partridge, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN
