Developed as a stillwater pattern; looks like it would work on flowing water, as well. Change colors to suit your needs.
hook - Dai Riki 060 #12
thread - MFC 8/0 sand
rib - copper wire small
tail/wing case - mallard flank
abdomen - hare's ear
thorax - peacock herl
hackle - partridge
mash barb, start thread one hook eye width back from eye
prep hackle/tie in by tip
tie in rib, wrap back to bend
measure (shank) a clump of mallard; tie in/trim
dub thread/dub abdomen (full-figured) to 60% mark
counterwrap rib; helicopter end/cover with thread
take another clump of mallard flank (gap width), trim butt/tie in over back
tie in peacock, twist with thread and wrap thorax; tie off/trim
pull mallard forward; tie off/trim
wrap hackle; tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN
Regards,
Scott

That's a tasty looking morsel. I can see that working for several species.
Thanks for the SBS. Wonderful stuff.

Sweet! Someone else who ties Denny Richards patterns. I love his stillwater patterns. I am a fan of his impressionistic patterns. Well done sir!

Nice SBS as usual Scott.
I have hung out with Rickards a little. Very pleasant gentleman. He is all about presentation and very light on imitation. Put an attractive fly in the right spot and you are on. I love this pattern, but have never done well with it. ??? Don't know why. I have done very well with his Stillwater Nymphs and Seal Buggers.
