Size 14 was perfect for me last year on the Roaring Fork and Gunnison Rivers. For my area size #14 would be too large a hook, unless it is at least 3x short.

Psssst, it slayed on the Roaring Fork today. I used it as a nymph, but hey. Size 14 is just dandy.
