Size 14, 2x long hook. I believe this pattern needs a longer hook

I like the concept, Wayne. How about a small 3x long streamer hook?

There was a recent post with an Oliver Edwards video, in which he tyed a pattern for the Rhyacophila. I think he used a longer hook too.

I watched that video, and one of Davie McPhails. That is what inspired me. The tail on this beast is of Oliver Edwards flair. The rest of the pattern is Mcphail inspirati
Even so, a gave 4 of these (all I had) to a buddy. He did very well Czech nymphing them yesterday.

That reminds me. How's the leg healing? Will you be able to join your friend fishing soon?

Its healing ahead of time, but too slow for me. I am on light duty and limted hours at work. The brace stays on for another 3 weeks atleast.
I dont have anything planned this year, and it is killing me.

Three weeks should go quickly, and should give you time to refill your fly box (or your buddies...maybe he can lend you some flies when your knee has healed...humor).
