Straggle lumi fly
Hook: jig hook #10 (TMC sells jig hooks)
Thread: Danvilles 6/0 claret
Bead: Tungsten slotted 3 mm with facet
Head: Lumi bead Semperfly (Essential fly)
Body: straggle fluoyellow and a thorax of Peacock.
If the fly is ready I put some bugbond in the slot.
I fish this fly in the winter in my home town, Alkmaar. The water is about 3 m deep and a bit murky, so the lumi bead helps the fish to find the nymph.
The jig hook does snag up less than a normal hook.

Glad you re-posted this pattern. I tried to comment on it the first time you had it on the forum.

Ruard,
I noticed that you wrapped this fly well into the bend of the hook. I have seen this in some older fly patterns. How old is this pattern?
I like the contrasting colors of this pattern. Perfect for low visibility conditions. Nice nymph. Thank you for sharing.

Love it, has everything you need for a low down dirty kind of canal fly. It will get deep, show up in dirty water and hopefully avoid snags.
For the intended purpose..... damn near perfect.
Should you show up with it tied on your tippet on a "proper" English chalkstream beat...... perhaps not.....

Ruard, Howdy;
Nice bet of invention
! Until I read the recipe I thought you were
using another bit of produce bag (lemons?), I truly enjoy your posting
new and freshly invented flies. Looking forward to seeing what you
catch with it.
Should be time for Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet

I think I do not have the money for that proper English Chalkstream, but if I "have to" fish in a deep piece of the river and if it is allowed......why not!
