Its that time of year that the Green Drake nymphs start to become a featured food item on the local Freestones.
I throw a different version of them together every Spring. (generic)

An Olive Hares ear works just as well.

Size 14

Is that a 2XL hook? It’s got a nice long shank for size 14.

Beautiful pattern Wayne.

Wayne,

Nice color combination. Excellent work! Did you use some type of tubing for the abdomen? The natural is really plump and very dark.

Thanks for posting- Ken

Ken, thank you.

The abdomen is Olive Brown Midge tubing.

The thorax is a combination of Green Hares Mask, Olive synthetic yarn, and Brown wool.

The Green Drake nymphs are different colors in different river drainages. They are even different colors in different sections of each river.

The colors can range frum dull Redish Rust, to Olive to dark Grey/Olive.
