A much more somber fly using peccary. An old Al Troth pattern he called Brown Mayfly Nymph. Dyed brown peccary for the body, brown bear or peccary tips for the tail, brown dubbing and dark brown hackle.

Great post tworod. It is interesting to see the old Brown Mayfly pattern. Are these originals (tyed by Al Troth) or ones you've tyed?

When I was studying the pictures, I was guessing the tail material was moose hairs. Thank you for adding the comments on materials. I'd have gotten that detail wrong.

Came from my vise. I'd love to see one tied by Troth. I lost out on an Elk Hair Caddis and his Pheasant Tail version at a TU auction a few years ago that were tied by him. It would be great to own one of those tied by the originator.
