How long a float did you get? Do you park one vehicle at the tail end of the drift and then drive back to the starting point at the end?
That is the way my buddy and I used to scuba dive the Niagara River. We'd drop off one car at the planned end point. Pile our gear in the other car and drive up river to an area we could don our diving gear and then swim out to the middle of the river. That was a blast. You would not believe the size of the sturgeon we'd see along the way.
I'm glad you were able to get out fishing, especially in January. A rare treat.
You da man!

Yes Ray, one vehicle is left at the finish point, while all the gear is thrown in to another vehicle. Then left at the start point.
Believe it or not, when I fish by myself, I use a taxi to drop me off at the starting point. The taxis are vans that have plenty of room . Their main business is transporting skiers and their gear to the many ski resorts in the area. Aspen all the way to Sunlight ski areas.
Your accounts of scuba diving is amazing!! I would never have thought it possible on that river. Perhaps it is the thought of the falls that dominate my idea of the Niagra River.

Yeah, around here it's called a shuttle.
You splash your boat at the launch and for $40, you'll find your car and trailer at the takeout.
(don't let my wife know.... she'll start charging me)
That sounds like a great day, DUBBN.
Gotta love those winter rainbows.

The actual fly fishing shuttle is 65 dollars.
The same distance in the taxi is 27 dollars.
I would have to use the shuttle if I were towing a boat and trailer. My raft and equipment fit in a large backpack, and fits in the trunk of a small car. I do like my framelss Watermaster.

Are you floating from Carbondale down to the confluence? The last time I did that I caught 98% whitefish!

West Bank to Two Rivers Park. There is barely enough day light for that short float.
I wish we were catching more Whitefish. They are getting rare.
