dang it... midge season will be over before we really get to try these guys... I'm out of commission for the next month... cataract surgery and recovery time will keep me off the water until early Feb... maybe we can still hit it in Feb...

Roadkill, Howdy;
Out of curiosity I googled " .4mm Brown Power Cord " and it just showed ... power cords
So, I feel obliged to ask; Did you strip some 'power cords' to get the thin strands of copper wire,
or is there some place you acquired this item? Great looking fly by-the-way.

Hank, just put down the power tools and think along the man sewing lines of fly tying.
(Warning- this opens up a whole new list of flies and supplies you may need to try!)
You can haunt craft stores for jewelry making supplies! I used to get Stretch Magic from J0ANN stores for making my friend Bob Wolfe's Trout Candy.

I get my stretch cord now from
https://www.firemountaingems.com , along with most of my glass beads I use at the tying table.
willowhead would approve of tying these little jewels for fish
!!!
And I have stripped power cords for copper ribbing many times!

Roadkill, Howdy;
When I think of " man sewing ", as you say, I think along these lines;
https://www.sailmakerssupply.com/prod_d ... g-supplies
Something I learned in the Coast Guard/Navy. Although there are a lot of
female Bosun's nowadays. I still have my palms (like the 2 in the second row).
