Wayne,
I'm glad your local trout liked my BWO nymph. It's my only "original pattern". I've caught trout with it in OK, AR, NM, CO, SD, WY, and MT. It has never failed to catch a fish! Until 2 months ago, I had only fished it as an attractor nymph, behind a large stonefly nymph. During our Sep trip to Salida, CO, I had the chance to fish it to trout that were actually taking BWOs below the surface. For 30 minutes 1 morning, fish were feeding in this knee-deep water on the Arkansas River near Leadville.

This was the only pool where I saw fish feeding all day. I used it as a dropper, below a hopper and caught 2 colorful Browns. I was sooooo very happy!
