other than what is in the book, i do not have much history.

heres what it says in the book (Pacific Northwest fly Patterns)

"Yellow Jacket Bucktail" #6-10 (wet)
"a good dual purpose fly, for streams and lake, for all types of fish"

i tied the fly on a size 10

I believe the book is one Roy Patrick put out in the 60's??. I bought a copy when I moved to WA in 74. If I got the book wrong it's one put out by the Inland Empire fly fishing club out of Spokane.

I have the 1970 Enlarged Edition of Patrick's book that lists this fly under Regular Flies.

The Flies of the NORTHWEST put out by the Spokane Club and printed by Frank Amato in 1986 has a simple Yellow and White Bucktail streamer with a silver tinsel body.
