Hook - WFC model 29 (Dai-Riki 270)
Bead- Brass Silver or Mercury
Thread - Nano Silk, Brown
Rib- Xsmall UTC copper
Gills - Light tan ostrich
Body - Mahogany micro tubing
Collar - Grizzly Or Grizzly Dun hen hackle

FlyFisherMann1955, thank you so very much for sending me your expertly tied caddis pupa!

I made copies with the closest materials I had. I am sure they will bring me luck tomorrow. First, the slush ice will have to stop flowing.

You tie pretty flies sir!!

So do you Wayne. Beautiful flies.

Good luck when you get out today. Hopefully the slush ice is not too bad. Do you switch to a sinking tip line in the winter? It can help get under the slush ice on top, so it does not goof up your drifts as much.

Good luck today.

The flow ice never stopped, and I had no desire to drive to a tailwater. Maybe next year.

Wayne,

I'm glad the flies arrived and you were able to tie some extras. Looking forward to your field test of this pattern after the ice is gone! When I think caddis, I often think "some shade of green". Here is a green version from today. Olive tubing and olive ostrich herl. I subbed olive partridge for the grizzly hen. Olive thread too......
