Beadless SH's

Post by DUBBN » Wed May 06, 2020 8:36 am

I had to see if I could still tie a beadless soft hackle!
The rivers are getting high and dirty. I have a hunch these will still take trout fishing soft water on the inside bends .

Yes, you've still got it! Beadless brilliance! :D ;)

I especially like the orange body version. Is the hackle french partridge? Whatever it is, I love the markings. Very sharp dressing.

Ray, it is Partridge. This skin has a few feathers on each side that are colored this way.

What type of herl did you use on the last one? Is that pheasant tail, or peacock herl? Love it!

You can also if you feel you need a bead put it on the tippet above the fly. That's what I do and it works just as well and makes the fly more versatile!!!!
