Re: Stewart versus Cholmondeley-Pennell
I better look after my first edition then  There were in fact two lists of subscribers, the second one tends to be forgotten. Although some of the subscribers are well known, most of them are have little connection to Jackson. Off hand I think there is only about four I haven't traced. Cholmond...

Re: Stewart versus Cholmondeley-Pennell
It is a good job John Jackson wasn't alive or he could have had a rant at Stewart also!

Re: New Spider Hooks
Kelly,
You might want to inform your friend in the UK, that Daiichi and Kamasan are the same hook company! The Alex Jackson hooks are nothing more than Kamasan B525s I should know I have been using them for over 12 years

Re: New Spider Hooks
Thanks Ron, your order will be shipped on Monday. Donald whilst there are indeed many coarse hooks available within the UK market and some people do try to dress spider on them. The Kamasan B525 being the classic example which some people like to pay through the nose for when it is relabelled Alex J...

Re: New Spider Hooks
The flies are tied to gut, some of the flies are tiny which makes the dressing skills even more impressive. The manuscript forms the basis of Pritt's and others books. The story will come out in our book. There is another treasure that will blow the North Country spiders history apart and rewrite an...

Re: I feel Pritt-y, oh so Pritt-y....(a herl head question)
We Yorkshiremen like to keep you on your toes and buying hooks :D I have always used straight eyed hooks for spiders and general wet flies, as I feel there are large benefits to the straight eyed profile when it comes to hook ups. I always smile when I hear people talk about Alex Jackson hooks as I ...

Re: I feel Pritt-y, oh so Pritt-y....(a herl head question)
Bear I’m of the opinion there isn’t any real quality to peacock herl. Sometimes the cheaper stuff wraps better than the supposed quality stuff that is twice the price. I snap off the last inch from the herl and then gently tie in the remainder by the tip. I also only use one herl for the head. I kno...
