Roadkill I am a big fan of purple and find using it in the great lakes fairly productive, that looks really good with the black and chartreuse, nice fly.

With you on the bees wax and honey,too many honey facts to list here. Just two, honey was found in the pyramids still edible,bacteria cannot penetrate honey they used to use it on cuts. Thank you for letting me get that off my chest.

Thank you old hat, I have seen your flies before (& tied a few) also. In this bunch I especially like 1-4-6,I like that dubbing on #1 I have used a burnt orange that looks like that for thorax on black stoneflies. In N.Y's salmon river blue is popular as is mostly dark nymphs and natural colors....

tj - I think there are a lot of similarities between the wingless wets and spey flies. I have had a lot of success fishing large soft hackle flies on Lake Erie steelhead. I like to scale up many of the classic flies to larger size hooks (generally in the 2, 4, 6 & 8 size range) and a range of d...
