Re: Waterhen Bloa III
Nice Bill. Something special about that pattern, and Waterhen hackle.
Try spinning the hackle around the thread before tying and you will reach wonkiness nirvana, and have a more robust fly as well.

I have been using the Davy knot for the past two seasons. Last season seen quite a few break off's - and I ws not sure whether it was the knot or the tippet I was using. Back to the drawing boards I relaised that I was tying the davy knot incorrectly. The few times I have been out this season, same ...

Norm, We sometime have to deal with problems like this, and I believe we can continue in the manner I intended this forum to operate under. Don't give up on us. Mark Just in case there is a perception that I am taking a break because of what transpired with Mike, recent issues have but a minor part...

Cheers, Hans W Hans you are not missing anything at all. Nothing is unreasonable , nor is any individidual's op...

I have just read Boris's thread that has been locked and probably should keep my size elevens on the ground and my mouth shut - but i fear I cannot do so. My contributions here have descended into bouts of fiction, tales for Hank to read with his coffee etc.... and I have asked myself why ? The answ...

Seems like you have been having fun jeff, great pictures.
I just cannot get my head around the size of the trout in your rivers - ive caught one trout over 3lbs in seven years on my local river, hooked two other's of similar size.
thanks for sharing, well done.

Re: Copper and Honey
I love the synthetics available to me in this era. I feel good that I do not need them to catch a trout. Quote of the year, you should frame it - I have a slightly different take though. For me the best material has nothing to do with nostalgia or believing that something with historical value is n...
