Re: My 1st Wooden-spool Pearsall's Gossamer
Pretty sure I got some spools from the same guy. Bought a few but the elusive #4 Yellow was my great score on the lot. I prefer the wooden spools as I feel the colors are more vibrant than the plastic spooled ones. As for color variations I have four #18 Highlander Green and they are all a different...

Re: Pearsalls Color Chart
Is anyone familiar with the Langley Superfine Silk? Is it Pearsall’s under a different name or different altogether?
I have a spool with the color code LT1423. Looks like Primrose to me.
Thanks

Ray,
Great looking flies. I like how you managed the tapered body. Mine tend to be of the straight variety. Going to give your method a go to get that same ‘cigar’ affect.
By first glance of the picture that Lance provided my guess is that the tail is furnace hen.

Re: Metz Hen Capes
Just received a Metz honey dun from Jim. Also a #3 rooster in Cree. Both are Very Nice. Can’t wait to try them out. I just need a pattern suggestion or two. Shipped West Yellowstone on the 26th, arrived NE Pennsylvania on the 5th. I really wasn’t expecting it any sooner since the postal service is h...
