Re: Basque Cheesecake

Oh boy--I like how that fly looks! And a very creative way it came about; eating "people food" leads to "fish food".

I once ate a delicious Basque chicken meal at a place not far from Mountainhome AFB.

Re: The Rise of the Neversinker, Fly Tier Rube Cross

I bought a copy directly from the author: Richard Lodge. It's a quick read; basically 80 pages with interesting color an b/w pictures. Only comes in paperback. I knew Cross in name only. Very influential in the early Catskill school. A very sad life!

Re: Soft Hackle book?

Don't pay the "crazy prices" some places are asking. You can order it from
Coch-Y-Bonduu Books. Current price is 35L, plus shipping. Look here:

Hello Wayne,

For the Sulky Silver Metalic, is the number on the spool: 145-6001?

Wayne,

That is a great color! Is the hare's mask from Charlie's Fly Box?

Re: Fly Tying Magazine recomendations

I'm with Lou on the "old school" list. Look forward to receiving my copy of Fly Tyer 4 X a year. Yes, some issues are better/more interesting than others, but I learn something from every issue. Once upon a time, I received Fly Fisherman and Fly Rod & Reel too, but those days are gone....

Re: Peacock and Starling (Glanros / Henwing Style)

Okay, the search is on. I've tried the Dr Slick "Extra Hand Tweezer", which are serrated, but I still break the tips off some the starling feathers with them.

Tworod,

Are the jaws on your clamp smooth or serrated?

A fish magnet! Did you use a WFC hook?
