Re: Basque Cheesecake
What a great name! At first, my initial reaction was of something conjured up by Marco Pierre White. The second was that it would be a great name for a Spanish Boy-band. Your fly is tapas for trout.

...which reminds me of something my grandmother used to say when a thunderstorm was coming. She'd step out onto the porch, look up at the sky and say, "Yup, blacker'n than the inside of a cow".Fishnkilts wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 11:16 am Outside of a dog, books are man's best friend.
Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Re: Parting With Fishing “Stuff”
You can never have too many books. Thankfully, my wife is completely supportive of my book buying habits. She only gets a little irritable when I start looking around at fly rods or vintage rifles. I haven't reached the point where I'm ready to purge the flotsam and jetsam of my fishing/hunting addi...

Very nice! This reminds me so much of BrkTrt (Alan Petrucci). Alan was a huge believer in the kebari mysticism. I have a couple of Alan's kebari creations, though I doubt I'll ever fish them now. Keep going with this theme!

I finally gave in. Ken Callahan just got a copy for me from England. I paid too much, more than I've ever paid for a book before. I have a cousin who lives in England and has fishing privileges to some nice water; he said, "Buy it!" ...and so I did. The most I ever paid for a book before w...

Gorgeous tie, Ron. That fly will do great work on the upper Aroostook; Munsungan and Millinocket streams.

I must live under a rock, or in northern Maine, because I've never heard of this stuff until just now. I think I'll try it, thanks for the knowledge, Wayne.

Giggle fish! I love that description. We had a similar experience last week on St. Froid, throwing flies to slab-sided white perch on 3wt. rods. I'm going to tie up some of Vickie's 'giggle' flies and take them back to St. Froid. Thanks for sharing that remembrance.
