Practical Fly Tying by T R Henn was published in 1950. It’s all about tying by hand. John Betts wrote an article about tying by hand for the Summer 1999 issue of Fly Tyer magazine.

Ken, That's the abbreviation that Fly Fishing and Fly Tying magazine uses. I get mine from the iPad app. They have several other fly fishing magazine apps as well.

I receive FF&FT as well. I can download a sample to see if I want to purchase a copy. The April and May 2024 issues each have an article on North Country “soft hackle” flies.

Ray, The color is one of the many ten gram tests that I made using mohair. The mohair is bleached. Rosborough wrote the bleaching give fibers translucence. This is what Ronalds says: 6.
