Partridge and Orange, Partridge and Yellow and Partridge and Olive are three of my most productive patterns and well worth having on a stream. I also suggest a partridge and peacock, as well as the grey hackle peacock and brown hackle peacock. Search this site and you'll find tons and tons of patter...

Awsome pattern. I've been catching trout on an olive bodied/partridge hackle one for years. It was actually the first really, really productive soft hackle I ever fished that wasn't just silk/thread and hackle.

Yeah, I get that they're speciality rods, but so to can be said about the bamboo rods I have that are hand made by someone with a great pedigree that I can sell tomorrow for what I have into them, if not a profit. I'm just taken back by the price for a mass production rod, that's all.
